Peasmarsh
Peasmarsh, set in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Beauty, is less than 3 miles - a five minute drive - from the medieval Cinque Port of Rye, close to some of the finest vineyards in the country and close to Great Dixter, the iconic home and garden of 'Christo' Lloyd.
There has been a Horse and Cart pub at the bottom of School Lane in Peasmarsh for well over a hundred years :
The Grade II listed building dates from the first half of the 19th century. It was already called the Horse and Cart by 1889 although the picture must be after 1921 when Style & Winch [lower sign] acquired it. They were the Medway brewers in Maidstone.
